Member Privacy Policy

It is the policy of First Community Credit Union not to share information on member accounts with nonaffiliated parties. This includes selling or renting of membership lists.

The nonpublic personal information we collect from our members consists of:

1. Information from members taken as part of a loan application.
2. Information obtained while performing a transaction.
3. Information received from a consumer credit reporting agency

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our members or former members, excect as permitted by applicable law. (exceptions would be credit reporting agencies and affiliated third parties).

Affiliated parties include CUNA Mutual, CUMIS Insurance, and other parties that provide services to our members. These companies will only receive non-financial information such as name, address, and birth date. The exception to this will be CUNA Mutual who will need to know loan amounts for the insurance coverages that they provide. Written agreements will be obtained stating the affiliated parties will NOT share this information with any outside firm, without the written consent of First Community Credit Union.

Nonaffiliated parties who wish to solicit the membership of First Community Credit Union, must submit the request to the president of the credit union. If the president deems that the information is worth sharing with the members the project may continue. The most acceptable way of this taking place is for the organization to provide the credit union with statement stuffers, these would then be included in the next statement mailing. We WILL NOT make our mailing lists available to nonaffiliated companies. Companies wanting to have statement stuffers inserted into statements must provide the stuffer at their cost and pay a reasonable insertion charge.

First Community will disclose it's Member Privacy Policy in each lobby and to all new members when they open an account and periodically as required by law.

We may disclose all or part of the information collected in the section above to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or other financial institutions with whom we have a joint marketing agreement (affiliated partners).

First Community Credit Union restricts access to nonpublic personal information about members to those employees who need to know the information for the performance of their job function. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in compliance with federal regulations regarding nonpublic personal information.
