Rock County Employees Credit Union Merging with First Community
On September 29th, the members of Rock County Employees Credit Union (RCECU) voted to merge their credit union into First Community. The merger will take place in early November and their existing courthouse office will be consolidated into our new Janesville location. RCECU has a long history of serving employees of Rock County government. Their Board of Directors knew that because of their size it was difficult to offer the products and services that their members were looking for. This was a primary reason that the Board looked for a merger partner. RCECU's Board conducted a thorough review of all potential merger partners before selecting FCCU.

First Community President, Jack Gill, stated, "we are extremely proud to have been selected for this merger. FCCU shares the same member service philosophy that RCECU has always had and we are looking forward to continuing our growth in Janesville." At the time of the merger, RCECU had $3 million in assets and almost 1,000 members.

FCCU is Awarded 4 Stars in Bankrate.com's Safe & Sound Ratings Service for Q4 2010

A 4-star rating is defined as "Sound" in terms of relative financial strength and Stability. For over 13 years, Bankrate.com's Safe & Sound® service has given consumers information on the relative financial strength and stability of U.S. commercial banks, savings institutions and credit unions. "Now more than ever, consumers need to know that their money is safe," said Thomas R. Evans, President and CEO of Bankrate.com. "Historically, when financial institutions receive one of our 4 or 5 star Safe & Sound® ratings, it has been a strong indicator of their financial health," Mr. Evans added. FCCU's has again been given a 5-Star Bauer Financial Rating. This is the 47th consecutive quarter and represent almost 12 years running.

The first is that you do not need to worry about your information being sent through the mail. Mail is occasionally miss-directed or stolen. E-statements would prevent this from happening. With E-statements, you log into a secure Internet server and download your information in an easy to access PDF format. The second advantage is that your statement is available sooner, because as soon as the statements are produced you receive an e-mail which allows you to download it immediately. No more waiting for your statement to make it's way through the mail. Please contact FCCU for details! They are available today email jkgill@firstccu.com to signup.
